Equipment

  • Soap molds
  • Double boiler
  • Thermometer
  • Mixing spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of glycerin
  • 1 cup of distilled water
  • ½ cup of coconut oil
  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • ¼ cup of beeswax
  • 10-15 drops of essential oils (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by melting the glycerin, coconut oil, olive oil, and beeswax in a double boiler. Use a thermometer to ensure that the mixture reaches a temperature of 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once the mixture has melted, remove it from the heat and add in the distilled water. Stir well to combine.
  • If desired, add in 10-15 drops of your preferred essential oils for fragrance.
  • Pour the mixture into your soap molds and allow them to cool for 24 hours before removing them from the molds.
  • Your homemade glycerin soap is now ready to use!

Notes

  • Be sure to use a thermometer to ensure that the mixture does not get too hot, as this can cause the soap to become discolored.
  • If the mixture becomes too thick, you can add in a small amount of distilled water to thin it out.
  • Be sure to use soap molds that are suitable for hot process soap making.

How to Use

  1. Lather the soap with water, and apply to your skin
  2. Rinse off with water
  3. Keep the soap dry between uses to make it last longer
