Goat Milk and Glycerin Soap Recipe

Goat milk soap is a great alternative for those with sensitive skin. It is gentle, moisturizing and can help soothe irritated skin. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it attracts and retains moisture. When combined with goat milk, it creates a soap that is both moisturizing and nourishing for the skin. In this recipe, we will show you how to make your own homemade goat milk and glycerin soap.

Equipment

  • Soap mold
  • Double boiler
  • Mixing spoon
  • Thermometer
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound of goat milk soap base
  • 2 tablespoons of glycerin
  • 5-10 drops Essential oils (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Melt the goat milk soap base in a double boiler over medium heat.
  • Once the soap base is melted, remove it from heat and add the glycerin and essential oils (if using). Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into the soap mold and let it cool for 24 hours.
  • Once the soap is cooled, remove it from the mold and cut it into bars.

Notes

  • Be sure to use a thermometer to ensure the soap base doesn't get too hot.
  • If the soap is too hard to cut, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to harden.
 

How to Use

 
  1. Wet your skin and gently lather the soap on your skin.
  2. Rinse off the soap with warm water.
  3. Pat dry your skin with a towel.
  4. Use as often as needed.
