Coconut oil is a versatile ingredient that has a multitude of benefits, especially when it comes to skin care. Not only is it a natural moisturizer, but it also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help keep your lips healthy and hydrated. Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Lip balm tubes or pots
  • Pipettes or droppers (optional)
  • Microwave (optional)

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax pellets
  • 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
  • ½ teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • 5-10 drops Lip-safe flavor oil or essential oil (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat the coconut oil, beeswax, and sweet almond oil over low heat until fully melted.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vitamin E oil and flavor oil (if using).
  • Pour the mixture into the lip balm tubes or pots.
  • Let cool for 1 hour or until fully set.
  • Screw on the caps and label the lip gloss tubes or pots.

Notes

  • You can use a microwave to melt the ingredients, but be sure to stir frequently to avoid overheating.
  • If the mixture is too thick, you can add a few drops of sweet almond oil until you reach the desired consistency.
  • You can use any lip-safe flavor oil or essential oil, such as peppermint, vanilla, or lavender, to give your lip gloss a subtle scent.

How to Use

  1. Apply a small amount of lip gloss to your lips as often as needed.
  2. Use a lip scrub once a week to exfoliate dead skin cells and reveal smoother, hydrated lips.
  3. Store the lip gloss in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
