Equipment

  • Silicone soap mold
  • Saucepan
  • Wooden spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz olive oil
  • 8 oz coconut oil
  • 4 oz avocado oil
  • 8 oz sodium hydroxide (lye)
  • 20 oz distilled water
  • 5-10 drops Essential oils of your choice (optional)
  • 2-3 oz Herbs or spices of your choice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Put on safety gloves and goggles.
  • In a saucepan, heat the olive oil, coconut oil, and avocado oil until they are fully melted.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the sodium hydroxide with the distilled water until fully dissolved.
  • Gradually pour the lye solution into the melted oils, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
  • Use a stick blender to mix the ingredients until they reach a trace consistency.
  • Stir in any desired essential oils or herbs/spices.
  • Pour the mixture into a silicone soap mold.
  • Allow the soap to cool and set for 24 hours.
  • Remove the soap from the mold and allow it to cure for 4-6 weeks.

Notes

  • Always wear safety gloves and goggles when handling lye.
  • It is important to measure the ingredients accurately for the soap to come out correctly.
  • The curing process is essential for the soap to become mild and long-lasting.
 

How to Use

 
  1. Wet your skin and lather up the soap in your hands.
  2. Gently massage the soap onto your skin, avoiding sensitive areas such as the eyes.
  3. Rinse off with warm water.
  4. Store the soap in a dry place to extend its lifespan.
