Coconut Oil Without Arrowroot Deodorant Recipe

Coconut oil is known for its anti-bacterial properties, making it a perfect ingredient for a natural deodorant. Arrowroot is commonly used as a thickening agent in deodorant recipes but if you want to avoid it, this recipe is perfect for you.

Equipment

  • Double boiler
  • Mixing bowl
  • a container

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 10-15 drops of essential oils of your choice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil over low heat.
  • Remove from heat and add the baking soda and cornstarch. Stir well to combine.
  • If using essential oils, add them to the mixture and stir well.
  • Pour the mixture into a container and allow it to cool for 30 minutes.
  • Once cooled, your deodorant is ready to use.

Notes

  • You can store the deodorant in a container with a lid or in a small glass jar.
  • The consistency of the deodorant may become thicker over time, so you may need to stir it before use.
  • You can add more baking soda or cornstarch to adjust the consistency if needed.
 

How to Use

 
  1. Take a small amount of deodorant with your fingers and apply it to clean, dry underarms.
  2. Rub the deodorant into your skin until it is absorbed.
