DIY Leave-in Conditioner With Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is known for its nourishing properties and can do wonders for your hair. This DIY leave-in conditioner is easy to make, cost-effective and is perfect for all hair types. Equipment

  • A mixing bowl
  • A whisk
  • A measuring cup
  • a spray bottle

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup of coconut oil
  • ½ cup of aloe vera gel
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup of coconut oil and 1/2 cup of aloe vera gel.
  • Whisk the ingredients together until fully combined.
  • If desired, add 10-15 drops of essential oil.
  • Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
  • Store the leave-in conditioner in a cool place for up to six months.

Notes

  • Coconut oil can be melted if stored in a warm place. Simply place the bottle in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes to soften. 
  • Do not apply the leave-in conditioner directly to your scalp. 
  • The essential oil is optional and can be replaced with a different type of oil if desired.
 

Tips for application

 
  1. Spray the leave-in conditioner onto damp hair, avoiding the roots. 
  2. Use a wide-tooth comb to evenly distribute the conditioner. 
  3. Do not rinse the leave-in conditioner out, just let it air dry.
