Our DIY coconut oil hair serum is easy to make and contains only a few simple ingredients. It is perfect for those who want to avoid harsh chemicals found in many hair care products. Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Glass measuring cup
  • Whisk
  • Small glass jar with lid

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops peppermint essential oil

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, melt the coconut oil over low heat.
  • Once the coconut oil has melted, remove from heat and stir in the vitamin E oil and essential oils.
  • Pour the mixture into a glass measuring cup and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
  • Pour the mixture into a small glass jar and let cool for an additional hour, or until the mixture solidifies.
  • To use, apply a small amount of the serum to your hair, focusing on the ends. Style as desired.

  • If you have oily hair, you may want to use less coconut oil in this recipe.
  • Essential oils can be substituted for your preferred scent.
