Equipment

  • Double boiler or heatproof bowl
  • Small glass jars or tins with lids
  • Stirring utensil (spoon or spatula)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon beeswax pellets
  • 1 tablespoon shea butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1 tablespoon jojoba oil
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • 5-10 drops of essential oil of your choice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a double boiler or heatproof bowl, melt the beeswax pellets, shea butter, and cocoa butter together over low heat.
  • Once melted, remove from heat and add in jojoba oil and vitamin E oil. Stir until well combined.
  • Add in essential oils if desired and stir.
  • Pour the mixture into small glass jars or tins and let cool for 1 hour or until firm.
  • Store in a cool, dry place and use as needed.

Notes

  • Beeswax pellets can be substituted with candelilla wax for a vegan option.
  • Essential oils can be added for a pleasant scent or for additional benefits.
  • Adjust the amount of beeswax pellets for a softer or firmer lip balm texture.
