Zero waste body lotion recipe

Else Norregard
This zero waste body lotion is super simple, cost effective and chemical free!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fractionated coconut oil
  • ½ cup rosehip seed oil
  • 1 tbsp emulsifying wax (any pure, natural wax such as beeswax or soy wax will do)
  • 2 tbsp rose water (rose essential oil can be added instead)

Instructions

  • Pour the oils into a bowl and set aside while heating a double-boiler made from a large mouthed, heatproof glass jar over simmering water.
  • Add the emulsifying wax to the hot water and stir until melted.
  • Add the melted emulsifying wax to the oils and stir again until thoroughly combined.
  • Pour in the rosewater and stir once more.
  • As the lotion cools it will thicken slightly, but will not solidify as it would if you used beeswax.
  • Pour into your desired storage container and enjoy your luxurious, all-natural lotion!

Notes

If you use it on your face, be sure to always wear sunscreen afterward.
