  • Small saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup shea butter
  • ¼ cup beeswax
  • 2 tbsp zinc oxide powder
  • 2 tbsp aloe vera gel
  • 10-15 drops essential oil of your choice (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In the small saucepan, melt the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax over low heat until fully melted.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in the zinc oxide powder until fully combined.
  • Stir in the aloe vera gel and essential oil, if using.
  • Pour the mixture into the glass jar or container and let it cool and solidify for at least 1 hour.

Notes

  • The SPF of this sunscreen will vary based on the amount of zinc oxide used. 2 tablespoons of zinc oxide will provide approximately SPF 20. For higher SPF, increase the amount of zinc oxide used.
  • This sunscreen will have a matte finish due to the zinc oxide.
  • The shelf life of this sunscreen is approximately 6-12 months.
